I was born outside of Mineral Wells, Texas, but I grew up in South Louisiana, so I guess that makes me a native Texan with a penchant for Zydeco. I am married to my husband & we have two children. We currently live in Dallas, Texas.

I became a doctor because I like helping people who are in need. The question I have been asked more frequently more than any other is why proctology? The answer is not so simple. I don’t think anyone choose this specialty because their dying academic interest in the anal canal, nor do patients come to us because of their desire to discuss their unmentionables. But, I have found that if I am willing to listen to the unmentionable and can offer help for those kinds of problems, the patients are forever grateful. In an era where doctors are not reimbursed for much of what they do, it is nice to know that your patients are at least grateful for your help!

In the course of my practice I began to notice that nearly all patients reach reflexively to Preparation H when they first started having hemorrhoid problems. Primary Care Physicians usually add some steroids but very few patients or physicians know the systemic medical management of their own hemorrhoids. It is trademarked as a 10-day treatment system for hemorrhoids and warns all users of the potential dangers of ignoring the serious signs of cancer. Through my medical practice, and now through Baby Your Bottom, LLC, I hope to continue my mission of treatment of these sensitive medical problems and to promote colon and rectal cancer awareness and encourage evaluation and screening.
